Dr. Allen’s favorite thing about working with animals is helping them feel better when they are ill and providing them comfort as they age. She knew she was in the right profession as soon as she graduated and was able to work directly with cats and dogs. As a veterinarian, her interests are soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

KC

RVT

KC joined the Fifth & Kenny Animal Hospital family in October 2011. She moved to Columbus in 2010 to join the Columbus State Community College Veterinary Technology program. She graduated in 2012 with her associate’s. KC decided to go into the veterinary field after getting her dog, Tate. She fell so in love him with at 19 and decided that she needed to work with animals. Her favorite thing about working with animals is the amount of joy they bring out in everyone, whether it be their owners telling stories about the crazy things they’ve done, to getting a scared dog to finally take a treat from your hand that shows you they do trust you. Or it can be the first time a cat comes out of the carrier and brushes against your leg. While these are small acts, these acts can turn your whole day around.

KC knew she was in the right profession the first time a client specifically asked for her to help with their animal. To know that not only the animal trust me, but also their owner solidified her choice in vet med.

She has been married to her husband, Larry, since 2013. She currently has 2 cats, Agnes and Cindy Clawford. When she is not at work, she enjoys watching TV, reading, traveling, and playing games.

Beckie

RVT

Beckie joined our team in April, 2017. She attended Columbus State and graduated from their Veterinary Technician program. She has loved animals since she was a child and grew up with pets her whole life. Her pets are her world and her goal is to try and treat every patient like she would want her own pets to be treated. Beckie loves getting to know animals and their owners through the years and seeing how they change!

She knew she was in the right profession from being able to see how much a difference you can make and how you can change a person’s life alongside their pet’s life. There’s no better feeling!

Beckie is happily married as of 2021 and has a home of 4 cats that are very spoiled and loved. She loves to watch TV with her husband and also read and play video games in her free time!

Chelcie

RVT

Chelcie is from Plain City Ohio and went to Ohio Wesleyan for her undergraduate and received a degree in Zoology. After receiving her degree, she went to Columbus State Community College for her Veterinary Technician certification. She knew no matter what profession she chose it was going to be working with animals and helping them when in need. Her favorite thing about working with animals is just how loving, selfless, and forgiving they are. Chelcie knew she was in the right profession and right place when she didn’t think she needed to continue to look anymore. She was comfortable and felt appreciated by her friends, family, clients, patients, and work family.

Chelcie is the oldest in her family and has her awesome parents along with her younger brother and younger sister. She has many pets, too! Her pets include her two dogs (Theodore and Jezzie) and her cats that just seem to find her (Princess, Perseus, Teeny Tina, Queenie, Newt, and Mooney). When not working, Chelcie enjoys being outside, playing video games with her brother, spending time with friends, family, and her animals, and going to dive bars as well as breweries.

Audra

RVT

Audra lived in Ohio all her life! She grew up in Dublin and went to OSU to earn a BS in Animal Sciences. She started working at Fifth and Kenny while going to tech school at Columbus State and after graduating she became a full-time RVT. She has been a part of our family since 2010. Audra loves her job! She was born to work with animals, there never really was a plan B for her. Her favorite part of working with animals is helping to make them feel better and earning their trust. Visiting the vet can be such a stressful experience for a lot of pets and she loves making it as comfortable and easy as she can for them. While this career can be very challenging, she really cherishes helping our furry family members feel better.

When she is not at work, Audra enjoys spending time at home with her husband and pets. They have a dog named Raymond and 3 cats (Jekyll, Luna, and Hoss). She loves playing games, running, and going to Columbus Blue Jackets games.

Kim

Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist

Kim started with us in October 2019 and was born and raised here in Columbus. She attended the Ohio State University. She has always loved animals and has also known Dr. Custer his whole life. When the opportunity opened up to work with him and animals, she jumped on it! Her favorite thing about working with animals is getting to share the pure happiness that they project. It is also extremely rewarding when she feels that she has truly helped someone’s pet in some way.

After 30 years of working in retail management, Kim felt it was a breath of fresh air to turn around in her chair and see six dogs sitting there looking at her waiting for treats. She knew she was in the right place.

Kim’s family includes her partner and four cats. She considers herself a total nerd and loves geeky things. She has a special passion for Xena: Warrior Princess.
